Estou pesquisando sobre a origem da palavra “felicidade” e parece que em muitas línguas ela está ligada ao conceito de sorte. Vejam só:

Hap is the Old Norse and Old English root of happiness, and it just means luck or chance, as did the Old French heur, giving us bonheur, good fortune or happiness. German gives us the word Gluck, which to this day means both happiness and chance.

Vi na “Lista de Palavras” que a nossa felicidade aparentemente não apresenta esta ligação etimológica.

Algum insight sobre o motivo? Por que no Latim não havia esta similitude?
